UTD offers courses in vocal instruction at several levels for all students. For the student with no prior experience, MUSI 2325, Vocal Instruction offers a beginning level introduction to the rudiments of singing techniques. There is no audition for this course. Students can then progress into MUSI 3382, Intermediate Instruction in Voice, with the permission of the instructor. More advanced students may take MUSI 4345, Advanced Music Performance, Independent Study and receive private instruction with a UTD faculty member. Advanced courses must be approved by the instructor.

Voice students without previous instrumental training are encouraged to take MUSI 2323, Fundamentals of Music and MUSI 2322, Music in Western Civilization to broaden their skills and understanding of music.
