Courses in design at the University of Texas at Dallas explore concepts and techniques that will enhance the education of the visual artist and provide a foundation for successful upper-division specialization in drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, as well as technology-based arts.

The curriculum focuses on concepts and techniques of design including color theory, composition, two- and three- dimensional design methods, as well as the history of visual art and current issues in contemporary art and design.
