"The Difference Between Good vs. Great Performances: How to Write a Review"

Scott Cantrell has been classical music critic of The Dallas Morning News since 1999, following tenures at newspapers in Albany and Rochester, NY and Kansas City, MO. As a free-lance, he has also written extensively for The New York Times and music magazines including Gramophone, BBC Music, Opera News and Symphony Magazine. He has also written articles for Encyclopedia Britannica and The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians. He was for four years president of the Music Critics Association of North America. He has also performed as an organist and choral conductor and taught music history at the State University of New York at Albany. He holds degrees from SMU and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
