motivational speaker, David Molapo speaks
at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD)
on Saturday, Feb. 12 in the Jonsson Performance
Hall at 8:00 pm. Joining Dr. Molapo is the
I Can Quintet, the A capella group from
Soweto he founded.
Dr. Molapo is a motivational speaker and
management consultant from South Africa.
He was imprisoned at 13 for political reasons.
Since then, he has written a variety of
books, including Selected Evaluation Instrument
Adopted for Higher Education Administration,
The 10 Exciting Keys to Success, Keeping
Hope Alive, Growing Up Spiritually, and
If You Are Not Growing, You Are Dying. Dr.
Molapo has earned numerous awards; Young
Achiever of the Year-South Africa, Four
Outstanding South Africans' Awards, PMR
Silver Arrow. His philosophy is "we
are no longer prisoners of our past, but
we are pioners of our future."
In 1990, Dr. Molapo organized the I Can
Quintet to help him spread his message of
hope. The men of the quintet are part of
the I Can Foundation, a nongovernmental
organization dedicated to promoting democracy,
social justice, and community development.
