This year's theme, “Christmas from
Around the World,” will feature carols
originating from England, France, Germany,
Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, Bohemia and
the Americas.
The Holiday Sing began at UTD 27 years
ago with a simple invitation to the university's
neighbors to visit the campus for a special
event. Since then, the concert has become
a favorite tradition for residents of the
Dallas and Richardson areas.
The afternoon Children's Concert will
include sing-along songs and a special visit
by Santa Claus. The Traditional Concert
at 7:30 p.m. will feature the UTD Chamber
Singers, UTD Chorale and the Symphonic Brass
Quintet, directed by Kathryn Evans. There
also will be speakers to delight the audience
with special Christmas readings. The audience
will be invited to sing along with traditional
carols and the Hallelujah chorus from the
"Messiah.”
