The CGSP consists of Oscar Arévalo, Arturo Guajardo, Pepe Guerrero and Gilberto Manzanares, four young guitarists from Nuevo Leon, Mexico that have distinguished themselves for their musical and technical capacities, their professionalism and their passion for chamber music. They are recipients of a scholarship by the San Pedro's Direction of Culture to improve their classical guitar technique under the lead of Maestro Andres Liceaga, who is also the artistic director of this ensemble. The ensemble has performed with great success at several important venues and festivals in the North of Mexico. To name a few: Plaza Fatima Cultural Center, Monclova's Cathedral, Silvestre Revueltas Auditorium at the Superior Music School of Coahuila State University, House of Culture in San Pedro, Nuevo Leon, Bernabe de las Casas Museum in Mina, NL, International Festival 2001 of Santiago, NL, and Barrio Antiguo International Festival 2001 in Monterrey, NL. In April 2002, the Quartet participated with great success at the First International Festival of Guitar Ensembles in the University of Texas at Brownsville, where they were heard by Dr. Madriguera, who invited the Cuarteto to perform on the 2002/2003 UTD Guitar series.

The CGSP's greatest gift is its versatility in performance style making it possible to delight listeners with a repertoire that spans renaissance, modern, and jazz, as well as music of Hispanic folklore influence.
